DNA's Structure
DNA is made up of molecules called nucleotides. Nucleotides are compounds consisting of a nucleoside linked to a phosphate group. Nucleotides are the basic structual form of DNA. DNA is made up of 6 smaller molecules, a five carbon sugar,a phosphate molecule, and four different nitrogen bases, which are adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine. Adenine binds with Thymine, and Guanine binds with Cytosine. The bond between the two bases is a double hydrogen bond. The bonding rule is that whatever the amount of adenine is in the DNA, there is a equal amount of Thymine. Similarly, whatever the amount of Cytosine there is, there is a equal amount of Guanine.
